Seneca Yearwood

I would like to start by briefing my visitors to who I the man behind S.Y. Solutions is both professionally and personally. In 2006, I graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Information Systems from Pace University. It took me a few months after graduation until I began working in the software development industry at Defense industry giant known as Raytheon. I invested 4 years to that company as a Java/Java Swing developer until my stint there was abbreviated by a wave of layoffs in late 2010. Shortly after I landed a job at a smaller company named DealerTrack located in Groton, CT that lasted just under 2 years until I decided to take my talents back to a larger company closer to home. With that said I am currently employed by CVS/Caremark as a Lead Java Applications Developer working on java shop based web applications .

In the midst of working a 9-5 Monday through Friday, I try to find time in developing websites and developing Android mobile applications. Looking through my projects you can find my published websites and Android applications.

In 2011, I have put more focus into developing applications for the Android mobile devices. I am a huge advocate of the open source community that Android demonstrates and as a Java shop developer, the transition to working in their platform was a no brainer. However I do recognize the device fragmentation challenges they face but what's a journey without a challenge? I'm looking forward to making several resourceful applications not only for myself but others as well.
